about.
Colette Parker is a Surface Designer currently based in Bath/Bristol. Colette has a strong passion for colour, vibrancy and organic shapes. With a love for painting she believes that every surface should be exciting in some way. Usually working in acrylic paint or spray paint, her designs can be applied indoors and out.

She likes to work in a fluid way on large scale pieces with room to move around while painting to create interesting new shapes. Past projects focussing on; Tapestries, Maps of Bath, French markets, Music, and The seven wonders of the world she seeks pathways which are new and exciting, often not widely seen in textiles. Also looking into themes that interest her and tell a story. In college researching the Autistic spectrum and creating a series of works linked to the various aspects of the spectrum. Further projects touching on modern day politics, the 60's revolution and Outsider arts. Beginning in sketchbooks with drawings responding to photographs, exhibitions or artist influences she then moves onto adding colour with collage or textured materials. The end product is rarely an obvious translation of the beginning image but a concoction of the research and ideas gained through her process.
